Formula 1 75th Anniversary

For fans of motorsport Formula 1 is seen as the absolute pinnacle of racing. It has the fastest cars and the absolute cream of the crop for drivers. For these reasons, and several others, it is a passion held near and dear for fans across the globe. Next year formula 1 will be celebrating its 75th anniversary. That anniversary is the chosen topic for this campaign. The target audience is pretty much anybody who is a fan of Formula 1. In the end the ad should be a celebration of the sport; something that recalls the history of the sport in a memorable and notable way.

The logo for the 75th anniversary campaign is largely based on the current F1 logo (the red part on the right). Parts of this logo were traced over and manipulated to create the 75. After this the official Formula 1 font was used to write “Celebrating 75 Years” underneath.

For this part of the campaign the chosen direction was an airport billboard. These ads could be shown in airports across the world throughout next year. That being said the optimal time and place to put these ads would be leading up to and during the reace in the driver’s country. For example the ad on the right would be shown in airports in England leading up to the British Grand Prix.

Formula 1 is celebrated worldwide; therefore the ads created needed to be a celebration of its anniversary. The three ads created were three different illustrations of drivers. The three drivers chosen were Aytron Senna, Michael Schumacher, and Lewis Hamilton. The majority of Formula 1 fans will agree that these are the sport’s three greatest drivers and biggest icons. Therefore it makes sense to include these figures in a celebration of the sports history. The color scheme for the ads was based on the flag for each driver’s respective country; Brazil, Germany, and England. One final aspect of the ads is the graphic in the background. Each driver has their respective country’s race track included in the ad as well. The last step was to add the 75f1 campaign logo to the bottom right corner; and the ads were complete.
