Restaurant Rebrand

The purpose of this assignment was to rebrand an existing restaurant in Saint Augustine. In this instance the chosen restaurant was “The Grilled Cheese Gallery”. Included in the rebrand was a new logo, menu, website, and a mockup of a redesigned interior.


The Grilled Cheese Gallery is currently a restaurant in downtown Saint Augustine. What makes the company unique is its focus on grilled cheeses specifically. Although the restaurant is successful, the current branding that it has is not good and it does not do a good job of representing what the business is actually about. Not much has to change as far as the food or the menu, overall the restaurant is very popular. It’s really just the visual identity of the brand that needs work.



The chosen direction of the rebrand embraces the comfort food aspect of a grilled cheese sandwich. The color scheme is supposed to reflect that of a grilled cheese; and the logo is meant to look like both a sandwich and the letter “G.” The overall branding of the restaurant is meant to be warm and inviting, as comforting as the food itself. With the target audience being college students, it’s important to curate an environment that feels like a home away from home; as a lot of them get homesick. A grilled cheese is a childhood favorite and eating one as an adult often makes you feel like a kid again. College students are also under a lot of stress, so this should be a place where they can come to have all their worries melt away.
