Screen Prints
The two pieces on this page were created for a screen printing class that I took. The designs were initially created in Illustrator and then turned into screen prints. We were given a lot of freedom with the projects. This meant that for the most part we could create whatever we wanted. The two pieces seen here were both inspired by music in someway.
This piece was inspired by Dr. Dre’s 1992 album “The Chronic.” Both Dr. Dre and “The Chronic” are staples of West Coast hip hop. The piece is meant to represent many of the themes and sounds found in the album.
A line from a song from Mac Miller’s 2018 album “Swimming” was the inspiration for this piece. The song is titled “Perfecto,” and the can be seen in the left side of the piece in bright blue letters. This piece is simple, yet is still a really solid representation of how the song and the album sound and feel.
